hands2Let this prayer begin with gratitude:

Gratitude for the time we share together, in this community, united by our values.

Gratitude that in a world, often fractured by differences, we have a place where differences are valued.

Gratitude for the journey; the becoming we experience together.

Gratitude for the love and compassion we share.

Gratitude that, in a world torn apart by war, we live in peace.

Gratitude for the abundance in our lives.

Let us speak a prayer of support:

Support for those who today feel broken by life.

Support for those experiencing

The crushing pain of grief,

The uncertainty of fragile health,

The fear of financial burdens,

The anxiety of job loss,

The loneliness of alienation,

The anguish of betrayal..

Support for those in faraway places who hunger for safety,

Suffer from hunger,

Sorrow alone.

May our prayer of love and support give courage and comfort to those who need it,

near and far,

today and throughout their journey toward healing.

May the strength developed on their journey be available to nurture each of us

tomorrow when our world changes and our need is great.

And let us speak a prayer of hope:

Hope that we live in our full humanity each moment of our lives, without excuses.

Hope that we find the courage to be all that we can be, as individuals and as a community, without excuses.

Hope that we can be the change we wish to see in the world.

Hope that the world can someday be a safe and healthy place for all.

Let our prayer be felt by every person in this room and in every corner of our home, and let us remember that our home is the world.

So let it be.
